Individual therapy

Gay/Lesbian Issues
Are you ready to come out to your family and friends, but are unsure how to do it?
Do you want to stay "in the closet", but need to know how to deal with these feelings?
Do you want to explore your sexual preference and its life style?
Are you not sure whether you are gay/lesbian or not?

We've come a long way, baby, from the APA including homosexuality as a diagnosis that needs fixing, to gays and lesbians coming out to their families and friends and adopting children. Yet, there is still some stigma associated with homosexuality, early painful experiences of rejection and shame, families that shun and "excommunicate" a member who comes out of the closet and enough harassment and prejudice to fill books, movies and plays.

In individual therapy you will learn:

1. To examine your feelings about being gay/lesbian and understand where they
    originate
2. To appreciate your value as a member of society, regardless of your sexual
    orientation
3. To get ready, emotionally and psychologically, if you desire to "come out"
4. To deal with your feelings if you decide to not to "come out"
5. To explore your life's experiences in a safe and accepting place
